Lots of people I know are currently looking to purchase new mobile phones, mobile phone contracts and mobile broadband. As most of us know, mobile phone contact deals differ greatly. Both in handset cost, inclusive free minutes and call costs. For the most part, if you’re looking to acquire an expensive handset, such as the Apple iPhone 3G or Nokia N96, you’ll have to pay a fairly costly monthly service charge and will no doubt be tied into a 12 or 16 month contract. You can of course get a lower spec handset and in turn get yourself a lower contract term and significantly lower service charge month to month. The mobile phone deals out there currently also include lots of offers for free minutes, or all inclusive minutes within your monthly service plan. These are great if you’re just looking to use your handset for personal calls, but if you need it for business, you’ll probably go over this quota fairly quickly and the additional minutes can often be expensive. I guess the message is to know what you’re going to use your mobile for before you buy. You can then find the best contract to suit your usage.
